If you live in Utah, there is no doubt you have heard of The Backseat Lovers. These guys make music that have you rolling your windows down, blasting their music, and singing as loud as you can with your best friends. If you haven't heard of them, we're sorry. You're about to binge hours of their music over on their Spotify profile here!

How did you all meet?

I (Josh), met Juice our drummer back in 2018 and we started playings songs together for a few months before I met Jonas at an open mic night. Then KJ started playing with us last October and has been here for about a year now.

What was the inspiration behind your name?

Everybody has done a little backseat loving, and that's that.

What does your songwriting process look like?

Jonas and I are the primary song writers and we bounce our ideas off of each other. After the song is a little more fully formed we work on it collectively as a band.

What are some of your biggest successes?

Our biggest success so far is quitting our jobs which was a pretty exciting day for us.

What are your goals for the band and where can you see it going in the future?

Our biggest goal is to continue to push ourselves every time we are putting out music and to make something that means something special to us and is worth our while. A more tangible goal of ours is to play at Red Rocks three years from when we started, we are at about 2 and a half years, so hopefully we can make that happen next summer.

Who is your biggest inspiration in the music industry?

Our number one inspiration would definitely we the Beatles. Than following that it would be Cage the Elephant and The Districts.

What is your favorite song you have written?

Our favorite songs tend to be the ones we are currently working on because they are the most fresh to us and mean a lot to us in that moment. These songs tend to reflect the way we live and interpret things.
