What do we mean by nature-like formations? Well, each Dendritic Agate is composed of inclusions that almost look like fossils or tree branches. These inclusions are actually just traces of manganese or iron within the gem and are typically black to brown in coloring, standing out against the gem which can be light, foggy tones anywhere from clear to white-grey. The dendritic portion of the gem’s name comes from these inclusions, which are commonly called ‘dendrites’.

While this variety of chalcedony is rare, it can be found in many places around the world. Specifically, this gem can be found within most chalcedony deposits. From the United States to Mongolia, this gem can form just about anywhere.
